About this Policy
At 7954689 Canada Inc., operator of CFQR 600 Montréal, we are committed to an inclusive, accessible work environment and service experience. This Policy reflects our ongoing obligation to identify, remove and prevent barriers in our operations, consistent with the principles of Section 6 of the Accessible Canada Act:
- Treating all persons with dignity and respect regardless of disability;
- Providing equal opportunity for a fulfilling life, regardless of disability;
- Ensuring barrier-free access to full participation;
- Enabling meaningful choice and support for persons with disabilities;
- Designing laws, policies, programs, services and structures with disabilities in mind and addressing intersecting discrimination.
Scope
This Policy applies to all aspects of our organisation, including but not limited to:
- Employment (hiring, promotion, training, retention)
- Physical work environments, facilities and built-space
- Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and digital services
- Communication (internal and external) and program delivery
- Procurement of goods, services and facilities
Definitions
Accessibility
The adaptation of physical spaces, technology, services, programs, policies and attitudes to enable all persons — including those with disabilities — to participate fully.
Barrier
Anything physical, architectural, technological, attitudinal, policy-based or otherwise that prevents full and equal participation of persons with disabilities.
Disability
Any impairment — physical, mental, intellectual, cognitive, learning, communication or sensory — whether permanent, temporary or episodic, which in interaction with a barrier, hinders full participation.
Commitments
We commit to:
- Continuously identify and remove barriers to accessibility in our workplace and services;
- Prevent the creation of new barriers in all our operations;
- Apply an accessibility lens to employment equity, recruitment, retention and training;
- Consider accessibility when procuring goods, services or facilities and when designing programs or services;
- Provide accessible formats and communication supports upon request;
- Ensure accommodations for employees, applicants and service-users with disabilities;
- Encourage feedback on accessibility and barrier removal and act on it in a timely manner.
Actions & Process
This is an ongoing policy — not limited to a fixed term or a three-year cycle. Key processes we follow include:
- Barrier Assessment: We review physical spaces, technology, communications, policies and services to identify barriers.
- Action & Implementation: When we identify barriers, we define and implement remediation or adaptation actions without undue delay.
- Monitoring & Feedback: We maintain ongoing channels for employees, applicants and the public to provide feedback on accessibility and barrier experiences.
- Reporting & Transparency: We publish progress and summaries of actions. While we may issue formal reports annually or as needed, we do not limit ourselves to a fixed term renewal cycle.
Employment & Hiring
We apply accessibility and equity in our recruitment and employment practices. This includes:
- Using inclusive and accessible job postings;
- Providing accommodations during application, interview and onboarding;
- Encouraging self-identification of disability status confidentially;
- Training hiring managers in accessibility and inclusive practices;
- Ensuring equal opportunity for career advancement for persons with disabilities.
Workplace & Built Environment
Our facilities, workspaces and common areas are reviewed and adapted to remove barriers. New leases, renovations or acquisitions are assessed for accessibility before being approved.
Information & Communication Technologies (ICT)
We ensure that the technologies, software, websites, streaming services and digital infrastructure we use are accessible. We support features such as larger font sizes, screen-reader compatibility, voice-to-text, captioning and alternative formats where required.
Communication, Services & Procurement
We design our communications, programs and services to be accessible. We procure goods, services and facilities from vendors who meet accessibility standards, and we hold ourselves accountable for accessible service delivery.
Feedback, Accessible Format Requests & Contact
We welcome feedback and requests for accessible formats. To provide feedback or request an alternate format, contact us at:
