Province of Québec

1. Eligibility

Contests are open to legal residents of the Province of Québec who are 14 years of age or older, unless stated otherwise in contest-specific rules.

Employees, representatives, and agents of 7954689 Canada Inc., CFQR 600 Montréal, its divisions, subsidiaries, advertising or promotional agencies, and immediate family members (parents, siblings, children, spouses, or individuals living at the same address) are not eligible.

CFQR reserves the right to require government-issued ID for verification.

2. Contest Period

Each contest begins and ends on the dates and times announced on-air, online, or through CFQR’s official platforms. All times referenced are Eastern Time (ET).

3. How to Enter

Entry methods may include, but are not limited to:

  • Calling the on-air contest line

  • Filling out an online form

  • Submitting an entry by email

  • Participating on social media

  • Random draws from registered listeners

Specific methods will be announced for each contest.

No purchase is required to enter or to win.
A purchase does not increase chances of winning.

4. Prizes

Prizes will be described in each contest announcement, including:

  • Approximate retail value (ARV)

  • Number of prizes available

  • Any restrictions (age limits, blackout dates, expired certificates, etc.)

Prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be substituted, transferred, or exchanged for cash unless permitted by the sponsor. CFQR reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if necessary.

Prizes are awarded “as is,” without warranty.

5. Selection of Winners

Winners may be chosen by:

  • Random draw

  • First correct caller

  • Skill-testing question

  • Contest-specific judging criteria

Method will be clearly stated during contest announcements.

Skill-Testing Question (Required by Canadian Law)

Selected entrants must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without mechanical aid to claim the prize.

If a selected entrant:

  • Fails to answer the skill-testing question correctly

  • Is found to be ineligible

  • Cannot be reached after reasonable attempts

  • Fails to claim the prize within the specified time

CFQR may, at its discretion, disqualify the entrant and select another.

6. Odds of Winning

Odds depend on the number of eligible entries received during the contest period and the contest mechanic used.

7. Winner Notification and Prize Claiming

Winners will be contacted using the method provided at entry (phone, email, direct message, etc.).
Winners may be required to:

  • Present valid photo ID

  • Sign a standard Release Form

  • Answer the required skill-testing question

Failure to comply may result in disqualification.

Prizes must be claimed within the timeframe communicated by CFQR. Unclaimed prizes may be forfeited.

8. Privacy

In accordance with Québec’s Loi 25 and relevant federal laws, CFQR will collect and use personal information solely for the purpose of administering the contest, contacting winners, and fulfilling prize obligations.

Personal information will not be sold or shared except with authorized service providers involved in contest administration.

9. Publicity Release

By accepting a prize, winners consent to the use of their name, city, voice, likeness, and/or photo by CFQR for promotional purposes without compensation, unless prohibited by law.

10. Limitation of Liability

CFQR, 7954689 Canada Inc., and their agents are not responsible for:

  • Lost, late, misdirected, or incomplete entries

  • Telephone, internet, or system failures

  • Errors in contest materials or announcements

  • Injury, loss, or damage resulting from participation or prize use

If the contest cannot operate as intended due to technical or other issues, CFQR reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the contest.

11. Compliance With Laws and the RACJ

This contest complies with all applicable Québec laws, including:

  • Règlement relatif aux concours publicitaires under the RACJ

  • Loi sur la protection du consommateur

  • Competition Act (Canada)

  • Loi 25 (Québec privacy requirements)

If required, CFQR will file rules and prize information with the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux.

Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a contest in Québec may be submitted to the RACJ for a ruling.

Any dispute regarding prize allocation may be submitted to the RACJ only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.

12. General Conditions

CFQR reserves the right to:

  • Correct typographical or production errors

  • Disqualify entrants who tamper with the contest or violate rules

  • Verify compliance with contest rules

Contest rules may be amended at any time, subject to RACJ approval where required.

13. Acceptance of Rules

By entering any CFQR 600 Montréal contest, participants agree to abide by:

  • These official rules

  • All decisions made by CFQR and contest judges

  • All applicable Québec and Canadian laws

All decisions by CFQR are final.
