1. Purpose of This Policy

7954689 Canada Inc., operator of CFQR 600 Montréal, is committed to fostering a fair, inclusive, and representative workplace that reflects the diversity of the Greater Montréal community. This Employment Equity Policy ensures equitable treatment, equal access to employment opportunities, and compliance with applicable laws and broadcasting standards.

This Policy aligns with the principles of the Canadian Broadcasting Act, the Québec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, and best practices inspired by the CRTC’s guidance on equity and representation in Canadian broadcasting.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to:

  • All employees of 7954689 Canada Inc. (full-time, part-time, contract, temporary, volunteer)
  • All applicants for employment at CFQR 600 Montréal
  • All employment processes including recruitment, hiring, training, promotion, compensation, accommodation, and termination
  • All departments including programming, on-air, news, production, engineering, promotions, sales, and administration

Employees

  • Treat colleagues with respect, professionalism, and fairness
  • Report discrimination or harassment concerns promptly
  • Support a safe, inclusive, and equitable workplace culture

6. Recruitment and Hiring Practices

CFQR commits to:

This Policy will be reviewed at least every two years, or more frequently if required by legislative changes, organizational needs, or CRTC/industry guidance.
